Alton McDowell

Alton McDowell is an Managing Director in the High-Grade Debt Capital Markets group at JP Morgan where he is a team leader for the Diversified Industrials and Paper & Packaging sectors and is responsible for client coverage and execution of broad and complex aspects of the fixed income markets, including global market opportunities, capital structure, acquisition financing and investor management.  As the team leader and senior product coverage officer, he is responsible for covering 55 clients across the Diversified Industrials, Transportation and Paper Packaging sectors in addition to middle market corporate diversified industrial clients.  He has maintained a top 3 leadership position in all of the sectors that he covers and is also responsible for the day to day coverage for companies including UPS, Federal Express, Caterpillar, John Deere, International Paper, Honeywell, Whirlpool, and ITT.

Prior to joining JP Morgan, Alton worked for as an auditor at Arthur Andersen and Price Waterhouse covering the oil & gas sector and financial institutions.  He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Houston in accounting in 1993 and his MBA from Columbia University in 2000.  Alton and his wife Anne have been members of Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem.  He is a life-time member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
